Everyone starts at 0 Elo. Your first settled rated outcome puts you on the leaderboard. Elimination or surrender in Trios or a rated event counts immediately, even while the match continues. Interim payouts alone do not place a new player.
Equal Elo shares a rank and tier. Percentile = (rated player count − shared rank) / (rated player count − 1). The highest rank is 100%, the lowest distinct rank is 0%, and a lone rated player is 100%. Small ladders can skip tiers; ties crossing a cutoff share the higher tier. Tiers can change as other players move.
Duels: K = 32, with changes based on current ratings and the win, loss, or draw. Beating a stronger opponent earns more; losing to a weaker opponent costs more. Equal-rated opponents exchange 16 Elo for a decisive result; an equal-rated draw changes neither rating.
Trios: losses settle on elimination. The loss is 32 × expected duel score against the average other contender's Elo, divided by N − 1 remaining opponents. Survivors share it. An equal-rated first elimination pays −8, +4, +4; the final two use their current ratings. Surrender counts as elimination. Simultaneous eliminations pay only actual survivors; no survivors means no transfer.
Rated events: use the same ladder with configured buy-in and reward skew instead of duel payouts. Check the event's example results before joining. Unranked lobbies never change Elo. The Event winner badge is a separate achievement, not a rank.
Zero floor: ratings cannot fall below 0. Winners and survivors receive their full calculated payouts even if a losing player reaches the floor, so total Elo can increase. Recorded results show the actual change after applying the floor.
Seasons: when an administrator ends a season, all eligible players tied for highest Elo receive a permanent badge showing that season's number. Eligibility requires a settled rated outcome during that season, not just an interim payout. Ratings then reset to 0; game history and earlier badges remain.
Approved accounts with colours can queue independently for a duel or three-player Trios. Only an active ranked game with exactly the same player group blocks another match: a duel does not block Trios, and Trios with a different third player are allowed.
Search range starts at 100 Elo and expands each full hour by 50 / max(1, active ranked games). Each pair must fit their combined ranges. After a player waits 24 hours, their pairings have no rating restriction, but real compatible opponents are still required.
Oldest compatible queue entries are matched first, across both modes, rather than favoring closer ratings or always starting duels first. Each queue shows its live player count, your position, and why you are waiting; admins also see the queued names in order. Three queued players only form Trios if every pair is compatible. Leaving and rejoining puts you at the back.
Set Games to queue for up to 20 more games in a mode. Each started game uses one, then you rejoin that queue at the back until none are left. While queued, you can change the count with Set games left.
Challenges: use Challenge on the leaderboard or a player's profile to invite them to a ranked duel. It starts only when they accept, ignores rating ranges, and expires after 7 days. Either player can cancel or decline. You can't challenge someone you already have an active ranked duel with. Challenge duels use the same settings and Elo as queued duels.
Duels use 8 countries; Trios use 12. Both start with 2 connected countries per player, 1–2 continents, no zones, and one-day turns. At the 10-real-day deadline, the living, non-surrendered player with the most countries wins; tied leaders draw. Previously eliminated players keep their losses and earlier payouts.
